Stomatopoda
Stomatopoda is an order of highly specialized marine crustaceans, commonly known as mantis shrimps, famous for having some of the most complex visual systems in the animal kingdom and raptorial appendages capable of striking prey at extraordinary speeds. Inhabiting tropical and subtropical reefs, sandy flats, and burrow networks, these hyper-aggressors are categorized as either "spearers" or "smashers" based on their specialized hunting apparatus.
