Hoplocarida
Hoplocarida is a specialized subclass of predatory marine crustaceans defined by the order Stomatopoda, commonly known as mantis shrimps. Renowned for their highly complex compound eyes and exceptionally fast raptorial appendages, these aggressive hunters inhabit tropical and subtropical benthic environments where they actively spear or smash hardshelled prey.
