Invertebrates
Invertebrates are animals that lack a backbone or spinal column. They make up about 95% of all animal species on Earth, spanning an incredibly diverse range of organisms. This category includes creatures like insects, spiders, worms, snails, crabs, and jellyfish. Because they do not have a bony skeleton, many invertebrates rely on a hard outer shell called an exoskeleton or a fluid-filled body structure to support themselves.
