The landscape of UAE bursts into life after a rare spell of rains, which otherwise looks barren. To capture this burst of life, we went to the Hajjar mountains for a session of night photography after rains.
Armed with binoculars and torches, we scanned the area for some interesting subjects. Through our eyepieces, we saw small spots of (reflected) light : moving, disappearing and reappearing. So we headed down to check.
We reached a shallow pool, where rain water had accumulated. And the small spots of light were the eyes of toads swimming in the pool. As we stood near the pool, we experienced a Dolby Atoms like surround sound effect, created by the croaking of the Arabian toads.
