Polychaeta

Polychaeta is a major class of segmented marine annelids distinguished by their paired, paddle-like parapodia and abundant chitinous bristles (chaetae). Inhabiting every ocean depth from shallow tropical coral reefs to deep abyssal trenches, these highly diverse worms include sedentary tube-dwellers with elaborate radiole crowns and mobile, predatory species that crawl or swim across benthic substrates.
