Chordata

Phylum Chordata encompasses all animals defined by a hollow dorsal nerve cord, a notochord, and pharyngeal slits at some stage of their development—spanning mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fishes, and sessile tunicates. As one of the most evolutionarily diverse groups on Earth, chordates occupy virtually every ecological niche across terrestrial, aquatic, and aerial biomes, making them the primary visual anchors for natural history storytelling, scientific documentation, and conservation campaigns.
